Welcome to our shop! I'm Karen Ann, one half of Coquette Original Designs. I was in a serious car accident in 2010, and when searching for ways to pass the time while recuperating, I stumbled onto beading. Over the next year my work evolved to include chains, pendants and charms. However, I felt a desire to create more original designs and handmade creations of my own, and discovered an interest in working more with metals and creating my own components. I completed a Precious Metal Clay course, and in this medium I found my true passion. I assembled the tools, equipment and supplies, and set out to explore all the possibilities that Precious Metal Clay offered, for a truly customized form of self expression.

My Husband, David, also became intrigued with the art of jewelry creation, and we both began experimenting with creating pieces from various materials, such as reclaimed copper wire, copper sheeting, sterling silver wire, silver, copper and bronze Precious Metal Clay, semi precious stones, resin, and clay, David also began hand crafting wood and bone beads from wood and bone gathered around our farm. Occasionally he incorporates them into some of his original designs.
